"Beyond the Rainbow" Marketing Mainland-Bound Student Athletes
Brittany Awai from the Kamehameha Schools Maui Campus requested that we partner up to help educate the islands about seeking collegiate opportunities on the mainland. Britt is currently working through the process herself and wanted to share what she has learned so far. Remember, although Britt is a volleyball player and comes with that perspective, the marketing information and tools can be used for any sport. I hope everyone takes a moment to evaluate the data that Britt has compiled. The plan she allowed me to review is straight forward and contains plenty of useful information. Launch Pad Productions is proud to present Brittany Awai's, Beyond the Rainbow.
In addition to Brittany's article, she was also good enough to provide sample letters, contact lists, links to information about the NCAA Clearinghouse, and many other useful tools. For the full compliment of links, please click on Go Beyond and read Brittany's article on marketing yourself to colleges. For your convenience, we have placed some of the links from the article below. Please take what you need and feel free to provide feedback. In fact, for the Master Contact List, we encourage you to submit your findings. Let's help each other and create a comprehensive contact list for all colleges. Currently, we have a list of all DIVISION I, II, and III schools for women's volleyball. The contact information is incomplete but the listing of schools is intact. Please help each other by filling in the gaps. {click on the Master College Contact List (Excel .xls) button. Fill in some of the blank entries for Division I, II, or III. Save the file on your computer. Send it via email to lamb@lpphawaii.com.
Notice: the word and excel files below may not be viewable in some browsers. AOL and Mozilla Firefox work. Internet Explorer does not. I am currently working on a fix and apologize for the inconvenience.
Are you experienced? Some student-athletes have been gracious enough to share their experiences with us, please take a moment to read them.
